FRAM was founded by Kirsten Everts in early 2018 after 20 years in the jewellery industry, which began in 1998 at the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad (CA). Following on from this my experience was acquired from auction (Christie’s, London and Bonhams, Paris), retail (de GRISOGONO, Geneva) and art advisory (Gurr Johns, London). Needless to say those 20 years led to a large and trustworthy network of fellow dealers, academics and a loyal following of customers.
FRAM’s main aim is to acquire jewellery that is strong in design, individual and unique. Whilst my heart naturally lies in 20th century design and artist jewellery; antique jewellery can be exceedingly modern-looking as well. So, although I call myself a dealer in 20th century jewellery, the truth is more: “a dealer in anything stylish and great, no matter what age”.
The jewellery on this website, as well as on my Instagram account, is an honest witness of my taste. I do not cater to what I think the customer desires. Rather, I prefer to meet the right customer for my jewellery because I firmly believe that to be the better foundation for a long-lasting relationship of a shared style and interest. And long-lasting is what I’m after because I hope customers become friends. Collecting is, after all, a journey and I like to think of myself as the well-meaning and trusted tour guide.
FRAM is equally keen to buy and I can confidently say I am able to settle quickly and can easily do so in various currencies.
FRAM is based in central London throughout the week. I am a permanent stand holder at 125 Portobello Market Road, Central Gallery, (almost) every Saturday from 7am onwards. I also participate at annual international jewellery trade fairs in Miami, New York and Las Vegas.
