Karl Edvin (Wiwen) Nilsson (Denmark 1897 – 1974)
Nilsson was a Swedish silversmith and jeweller to the Royals. Learning the trade from his father in Lund, he further educated himself in Germany between 1913 and 1914, continuing his studies again in 1919 and 1920.
In 1923 Nilsson made his debut at the Gothenburg Exhibition where he showed a china coffee service, which was praised for its bold and innovative modernistic style.
In 1927 he took over his father’s business in Lund.
Nilsson became one of the most appreciated and well-known silversmiths both in Sweden and internationally. During the 1940’s he had a store in New York.
